A 20-unit Burbank condominium had backups on two separate 6-inch clay lines under mature landscaping. TSR burst one run and lined the other, reinstating all ten unit connections, with no trenching.
The HOA president for a 20-home condominium community in Burbank called TSR after half the units began experiencing sewer backups. The problem lines ran beneath mature landscaping the board did not want disturbed, and several members had asked whether a trenchless approach was possible.
The first line was a 6-inch vitrified clay collector serving ten units. After the camera survey, TSR recommended pipe bursting: a bursting head was pulled through the old clay, fracturing it while drawing in a new fused HDPE pipe. Roughly 140 feet were replaced this way, and each of the ten unit connections was reinstated afterward.
The second run carried flow from the property to the city sewer and was choked with roots. TSR hydro-jetted the roots out, then installed a resin-impregnated liner, inflated it with a bladder and let it cure in place, leaving a seamless new pipe inside the old one.
Two rehabilitated sewer lines, no excavation through the landscaping, and a saving the board put at well over $25,000 against a conventional dig-and-replace. This is the kind of multi-connection, mixed-method job that a lot of trenchless outfits will not take on.
