Years of garage flooding every time the back toilet flushed, and an excavation quote far over budget. TSR mapped two connections and lined 80 feet of mixed pipe out to the alley from one small access point.
Every flush of the rear bathroom sent water into parts of the garage, and the family had been living with periodic rooter visits for years. An excavation quote came in well over budget, which is when they went looking for a trenchless contractor.
TSR's camera survey showed a 4-inch cast iron drain leaving the back of the house and running about 80 feet to the alley, changing to clay for the last ten feet. Two connections had been added when the home was put on a raised foundation years earlier, and two remodeled outdoor bathrooms sat directly over the damaged section. Roots throughout, as is typical in Laguna.
The crew hydro-jetted the roots out, mapped the branch connections, and lined the run through a single small access pit, reinstating the connections afterward. The result is one continuous pipe from the house to the alley that roots cannot get back into, with both bathrooms and the rest of the property untouched.
