A heavy fountain delivery had crushed a section of terra cotta sewer. A partial collapse cannot be lined, so TSR burst in a new 79-foot HDPE line.
The owner described sudden backups at a home in an upscale part of Thousand Oaks. From the description TSR suspected a partial collapse, which the camera confirmed in the terra cotta line. The owner was not surprised: a very heavy fountain had recently been delivered to the front of the property, and the trucks had crossed the sewer's path.
A liner needs a continuous host pipe to follow; a collapsed section stops it. Pipe bursting does not care, because the bursting head breaks the old pipe apart as it pulls the new one through. TSR replaced all 79 feet with fused HDPE from two small pits, restored the pits, and the owner got a new sewer at a fair price without any trench across the property.
